Biography

Sándor Török Graduated in Communications Engineering from the Technical University of Budapest in 1964. Since 1964 has been with the Department of Electron Devices of the Technical University of Budapest. His first R&D subjects were in connection with the vacuum technology; in the field of the vacuum measurement he has developed control electronics for a radiofrequency mass spectrometer. Later he took part in many R&D projects aimed at the development of different testing devices for the Hungarian semiconductor industry: capacity measurement equipment for discrete semiconductor devices, cut-off frequency measurement instruments, semiconductor characteristics plotters etc. That time he devoted special attention to the study of measurements of the thermal behaviour of semiconductor devices: he has developed a instrument for measuring the thermal resistance of transistors and a thermal coefficient determining equipment. An other field of special interest for him is the application and measurement of consumer integrated circuits. In this field he gives elective classes called "Integrated circuits of consumer electronics". During his practical activity in this field he has developed some measuring units for special testing automates of colour TV IC-s (e.g. programmable chroma generator) and some laboratory testing equipment for stereo decoder and PAL decoder IC-s.

Research activity

At present Sándor Török contributes to numerous national and European research projets of the department by designing and building experimental thermal measurement devices and measurement setups and by carrying out the most difficult measurements.

Other responsibilities

  • responsible for the inventory of the department
  • responsible for the organisation of diploma projects of the graduating students
