This topic relates to using various artificial intelligence methods to explore the phylogenetic relations of historical scripts (human writing systems) and their glyphs. It is necessary to learn and develop phylogenetic analysis algorithms for comparing scripts based on their various features. One creates mathematical models and methods, which describes the typical topological transformations between graphemes during the evolution of the various scripts. Based on the extracted topological similarity information, data analysis using artificial intelligence algorithms would be carried out. The resulted phylogenetic structure of the scripts might be used in deciphering ancient hard-to-read inscriptions.
